What makes Knockout Kings 2001 so special? This year, several of the athletes have in the game
been in the EA SPORTS study, to contribute to a 3D full body scan - with it
so-called FaceWrap technology. Using this technology, programmers can create one
almost perfect interactive cloning of the right practitioners. To speak a little computer language one
moment: Each boxer has been awarded up to 10,000 polygons, so his or her
unique moves become as real as possible. Polygons are a graphical point and the more points
one uses - the more mechanical power is required for the graphics to float on yours
TV screen. With PlayStation2, this is not a problem.
But to make this game as optimal as possible, EA SPORTS has also taken advantage of
motion capture by Muhammad Ali and Lennox Lewis during the development of KO Kings 2001.
